Job Description:
The Data Analyst I provides data analytics support to the health
services team. This includes aspects of data analytics process
including data extraction, exploration, transformation, analysis
and visualization. The Data Analyst I will work with stakeholders
and subject matter experts of various healthcare teams in
understanding data needs and reporting requirements and work
towards reports and visualizations that provide business insight
and data driven decision making. The Data Analyst I will also work
with different tools to create or enhance existing applications and
data pipelines so that data can be readily accessed, is accurate
and up to date. This role will interface with all brands, medical
teams onboard, shoreside health services and public health leaders
as well as external vendors that manage our healthcare
systems.Essential Functions:
- Health Information Systems
- Supports the enhancement, building, implementation and
maintenance of the Corporation's health services data sources (such
as databases, data tables etc).
- Supports and assists with creation, enhancement and maintenance
of data pipeline to ensure accurate and up to date data.
- Able to explore and transform data so that it can be collated
and presented in a consumable fashion, such as use of Medallion
data architecture.
- Assists with creation, implementation and maintenance of
reports and dashboards to stakeholders, using tools such as
PowerBI. Generates reports that fulfil regulatory requirements,
audits, and measurements of key performance indices.
- Stores information in appropriate format and in compliance with
privacy and data storage regulations.
- Identifies, assesses and audits data from available sources to
improve record completeness and accuracy.
- Analytics Support
- Supports data modelling and uses analytical techniques to
analyze data. Use these to create reports and dashboards that
provide insight for stakeholders.
- Works with Stakeholders to provide recommendations for
capturing processing, analysis and distribution of data.
- Provides data expertise and data systems related support.
- Health Systems Support
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders to improve
functionality of electronic health records (EHR) and development or
improvement of existing applications using tools such as Microsoft
PowerPlatforms.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure implementation of
applications and collection of high-quality data.
- Documents standard practices, processes, and training guides
for stakeholders.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Public
Health, Epidemiology, or related field required.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated analytic experience.
Experience in health informatics, healthcare, epidemiology,
computer science, public health, or electronic health records
preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Prior experience in healthcare data analysis or
bioinformatics.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or public health setting with
health informatics responsibilities that include conducting and/or
supporting informatics projects.
- Proficiency in statistical packages.
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI and
Tableau.
- Ability to interpret health information and data sets to offer
insight on business decisions.
- Strategies for achieving effective data acquisition,
management, quality, storage, use, and application to address
population health.
- Database and data warehouse development, use, and
management.
- Organizational skills demonstrating high attention to
detail.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal
skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to solve complex data quality issues requiring
collaboration among multiple internal and external partners.Work
Conditions:Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with
minimal safety/health hazard potential.Travel: Less than 25% with
shipboard travel likely.Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in
a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended
periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL
facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time.This
position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it
requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in
South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may
work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be
located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale
area.Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and
