Property & Casualty Insurance Underwriter Retention Assistant

Costello Insurance & Assoc. Inc is rapidly expanding and we're seeking new Insurance Underwriters to join our team's ranks! Our ideal Insurance Underwriter will leverage strong communication skills to gather background information and take an analytical approach to conduct risk assessments. We need an industry professional who is confident in making evidence-based decisions about insurance policies.

--- COMPENTATION $30,000 - $57,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Screen each client and conduct insurance policy risk assessments based on collected applicant information
Apply a data-based approach to setting insurance policy provisions, premiums, and coverage in the case it should be provided
Leverage underwriting software to identify insurance coverage recommendations for existing, new, and prospective clients
--- Answer phones, address customer questions, and clear the calls you take (Daily)
--- Pull all reports from the company daily
--- Check, companies to see if there is any underwriting (Daily)
--- Pull all mortgagee changes from Mortgagee Request hanging basket and match them with files and put them in front of second chair of the retention manager's desk (Daily)
--- Clear emails and return calls (Daily)
--- Check policy balances and send applications
--- Check the Owner's front and area desk and file away files in pending money and her bills(Daily)
--- Obtain mail every morning
--- Sign for UPS and FedEx's daily
--- Check messages hourly
--- Underwriting
--- Processing changes

(WEEKLY); Make sure to check the garbage and take it out to the dumpster. This should be done Wednesdays and Fridays (WEEKLY); Make grocery a list of supplies (WEEKLY)

Qualifications:

Superb communication and interpersonal skills are essential to collaborating with key insurance policy stakeholders
Ability to collect and accurately evaluate background information from a variety of sources to calculate the costs and benefits of insurance coverage and claims
Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and/or Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) designations strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and math skills required to carefully analyze every insurance application detail that may affect a coverage decision
