Account Development Specialist - Fine Wine Country Clubs

Job Description:

ASPECT is a new fine wine strategy within Breakthru’s North American footprint and will serve as a concierge-style service for businesses eager to capitalize on the growing fine wine trend.


As an Account Development Specialist, you will be responsible for developing BBG’s Fine Wine share (BTG, BTB, Retail) in the assigned Fine Wine Account base.  Maintain strong relationships with the key stakeholders/gatekeepers of the Fine Wine Account base, be the ‘go-to’ consultant for the accounts.  Be active with in-market events and education (staff trainings, winemaker dinners).  The lead liaison for visits from the assigned Fine Wine Supplier community, with strong coordination across the organization with winery principles.  Be on the cutting edge of new entrants to the Total Fine Wine account world within the region achieving BBG’s share of opening business.  Lead execution of the key network wide ASPECT programs and Pre-Sells.

  • Functions as the expert and serves as a resource for the division or group in developing comprehensive beverage strategy and plans for innovative growth. Researches trends, category and portfolio to ensure that the group or division and company meet goals as established.        
  • Assists sales team in driving priority brands thru visibility, education, and advocacy. Develops and delivers training modules to the sales team, customer, and supplier regarding sales trends.           
  • Maintains relationships with influencers and presents new products and cocktail, wine and beer listings or menus.  Produces wine and cocktail lists, placement and reset recommendations, and promotions.          
  • Executes against the segment, division or group strategy to ensure that brands and programs are being targeted for success.     
  • Supports targeted events and attends others to ensure that assigned portfolio is featured in new and unique ways.    
  • Researches trends, category and portfolio to ensure that the group or division and company meet goals as established.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience preferred
  • 7+ years sales experience with a focus in fine wine
  • Fine wine accreditation preferably WSET Level 2 or similar (CSW, Level II Court of Master Sommeliers)
  • Basic Budget, Sales and Marketing experience
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • A sound understanding of the ON PREMISE Channel
  • Familiarity with assigned territory is a plus
  • The position requires the use of a personal motor vehicle and a valid driver's license

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent hand motion with answering and dialing phones and computer work
  • Occasional carrying, overhead reaching and lifting of 15 pounds to perform various duties
  • Occasional immediate reaching to perform various office duties
  • Occasional standing for short amounts of time to perform various duties
  • Occasional walking for short amounts of time to perform various duties
  • Extended sitting for long periods of time at desk or workstation
  • Minimal squatting or bending to perform various duties
  • Occasional Climb Stairs
