Job Description:

The Director of Quality is tasked with providing both the tactical and strategic direction of the quality systems and processes within the business unit. The Director of Quality will serve as the primary focal point to the Federal Aviation Administration, Quality Assurance Representatives and all other independent/customer quality organizations (AS9110/AS9120/ISO9000, customers, etc.).


  • Develop, maintain and oversee the quality program in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9110, AS9120, ASA-100, FAA AC00-56A, FAA Part 145 and EASA Part 145.
  • Implement established Quality Management System policies through documented procedures, flow charts and/or work instructions.
  • Ensure that all material scrapped is recorded and disposed of in accordance with FAA or other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and provide oversight/guidance for nonconformance s by completing and/or guiding the team through the root cause / corrective action process. Provide acceptance or rejection decisions for completed RCCA s with the business segment leader, submit approved corrective action forms to appropriate entity as applicable and manage follow-up effectiveness of all corrective actions.
  • Identify and coordinate with all internal areas any changes in FAR and industry requirements/customer requirements and ensure changes are incorporated into the company s quality manual and employees are trained and understand the changes.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements across the global distribution and repair services business segments. Leads and coordinates the activities with the various regulatory agencies and customer specific requirements. Ensures that the overall quality processes and systems are in place and effective. Drives continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with the overall business needs, risk assessments and strategic direction.
  • Leads all efforts associated with the Federal Aviation Administration to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. ensures all quality processes and manuals are in alignment with requirements, promote an effective quality culture and develops a solid working relationship with the local FSDO.
  • Identifies, develops and manages relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI s) that are meaningful to the business and drive improvement. Ensures the KPI s are actionable and takes actions accordingly to drive improvement in a timely


  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or other appropriate field required, or management preferred, six-sigma lean or black belt preferred.
  • 10+ years of successful and progressively increasing span of complexity and team ownership in aerospace aftermarket and MRO, distribution, operations, business management or other program intensive functions. Aftermarket experience and relationships a firm requirement.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Administration regulatory requirements for FAA Part 145 and EASA Part 145.
  • Solid knowledge of AS9110/AS9120/ISO9001 quality requirements.
  • Ability to build a performance-based culture around enhancing the customer value proposition supported by process discipline and
