We want to be known for helping our corporate and individual clients in the defense of litigation. We are growing fast, and we need a litigation associate who can hit the ground running. This position will be responsible for important work, including: - Handle your own cases, from start to finish - Attend simple and complex hearings and making argument on relevant issues - Take and defend depositions, including party and expert depositions - Attend mediation and engage in settlement discussions with opposing counsel and clients - Regularly communicate with clients for updates and strategy - Attend jury and non-jury trials If these statements appeal to you, then you may be our litigation associate - You are organized - You are an excellent writer - You are detail-oriented - You are very good at legal research (we use Westlaw) - You are caring, and care about our clients and their cases - You are a self-starter - You are creative and good at determining the relevant issues - You are not looking for the easiest way out of litigation - Work well with others and be a great member of the team We love to help our team members learn and grow. We need a litigation association with experience in civil litigation, including but not limited to personal injury defense, construction litigation, commercial litigation and landlord-tenant litigation. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding. This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work at least 40 hours per week. We will offer a compensation package in keeping with your level of experience, with a base pay and variable pay starting at $90,000 - $160,000 per year, which increases considerably based on experience.
