Job Description:

The University of Miami is in search of a Level II Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Infusion for a nursing position in a vibrant healthcare environment.Position Overview & Requirements

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Conducts assessments of assigned patients and evaluates care plans, ensuring comprehensive documentation of nursing interventions. Monitors and reports changes in patients' conditions and vital signs.

    2. Adjusts treatment plans based on patient responses, conditions, and physician directives.

    3. Reviews and interprets diagnostic tests to evaluate patient health status.

    4. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and assess patient care strategies.

    5. Prepares patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, providing necessary support.

    6. Takes into account patient age and cultural background when delivering care and offers relevant information regarding treatment plans.

    7. Fosters a supportive environment by providing emotional and psychological assistance to patients.

    8. Performs necessary patient tests and administers medications safely within the scope of practice.

    9. Maintains accurate records related to medications and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards and physician orders.

    10. Effectively communicates care plans to patients, families, and team members, ensuring adherence to all regulatory guidelines (i.e., HIPAA).

    11. Implements best practices for patient care transitions and utilizes resources for discharge planning.

    12. Organizes, prioritizes, and modifies assignments to achieve objectives and deliver exceptional patient care; seeks support when necessary and adapts to evolving work demands.

    13. Operates medical equipment safely and serves as a mentor to new staff, assisting them in acclimating to the healthcare setting and direct patient care roles, providing constructive feedback as needed.

    14. Complies with University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.

    Certification and Licensing:

    Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card; Oncology Certification is preferred.

    Experience:

    A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Familiarity with medical terminology
    Understanding of nursing care methods and procedures
    Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety guidelines (e.g., sanitation, decontamination)
    Excellent patient experience skills
    Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve various issues
    Capacity to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
