Job Description:

The University of Miami is in search of a Level II Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Infusion for a nursing position in the healthcare sector.Position Overview & Requirements

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct assessments of assigned patients and evaluate care plans, ensuring thorough documentation of nursing interventions. Monitor and report any changes in patients' conditions and vital signs.

    2. Adjust treatment plans based on patient responses, conditions, and physician directives.

    3. Review and interpret diagnostic tests to gauge patient health status.

    4. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and assess patient care strategies.

    5. Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, providing necessary support.

    6. Consider patient demographics, including age and culture, while delivering care and explaining treatment plans.

    7. Foster a supportive environment by offering psychological assistance to patients.

    8. Perform relevant patient tests and administer medications safely within the defined scope of practice.

    9. Maintain accurate records of medications and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.

    10. Communicate care plans effectively to patients, families, and team members, adhering to all regulatory guidelines (e.g., HIPAA).

    11. Implement best practices for patient care transitions and utilize resources for discharge planning.

    12. Organize, prioritize, and modify assignments to achieve objectives and deliver exceptional patient care; seek assistance when necessary. Adapt to evolving work demands and environments.

    13. Operate medical equipment safely and serve as a mentor to new staff, assisting them in acclimating to the healthcare setting and direct patient care roles. Provide constructive feedback as needed.

    14. Comply with University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding institutional assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.

    Certification and Licensing:

    Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card; Oncology Certification preferred.

    Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Familiarity with medical terminology and nursing care protocols.
    Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g., sanitation, decontamination).
    Exceptional patient interaction skills.
    Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve various issues.
    Capacity to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
