Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Physician Assistant to join our team. The selected candidate will supervise and lead a team of Advanced Practice Providers. In addition to clinical duties, responsibilities will include partnering with department leaders for strategic development and implementation of Quality Assessment (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives, coordinating and supervising staffing assignments, developing and maintaining clinical workflows and practice expectations to optimize efficiency, and maintaining a positive collaborative workplace relationship with multidisciplinary team members. The ideal candidate will have both experience in a pediatric healthcare setting and leadership experience. Candidates must have a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS, ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.Schedule requirements are day shifts and hours will vary based on clinical requirements. This is a full-time, employed position that offers competitive benefits and compensation package that are commensurate with training and experience. The hospital recently underwent a 4-story vertical expansion to double the number of floors and continue to meet its commitment to providing the highest quality and safest care for children in the region. This expansion opened in November 2022 and includes a state-of-the-art Pediatric ICU, a new 20-bed cardiac ICU and step-down unit including new ORs with hybrid capabilities, three cath labs and an interventional radiology suite. JDCH also has robust Neurosciences, Hematology/Oncology, and other general and specialized surgical programs (approximately 10,000 surgeries per year), and the area's largest pediatric and neonatal transport team, which also does mobile ECMO.
