Job Description Salary is based on experience Ultrasound
Technologist Primary Accountability Perform obstetrical,
gynecological, and thyroid ultrasound services on patients under
the direction of the supervisor. Primary Responsibilities --
Responsible for performing ultrasounds and preparing preliminary
reports. o Ensures proper patient identification using patient
identifiers as per national patient safety goals o requirement. o
Provides instructions to patients to prepare for the sonogram,
explaining the procedure and the information to be obtained. o
Performs ultrasound examinations on patients, deviating from normal
techniques to adapt each exam to the patient or circumstance as
needed. o Labels all images appropriately, recording patient's
information and scan measurements. o Prepares and submits
preliminary report to the supervising provider on the day the
ultrasound was performed. o Maintains patient confidentiality. o
Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment and
patient handling. -- Assists with the daily operations of the
ultrasound department. o Recommends changes in work methods. o
Maintains clean examination room. o Participates in Quality
Management activities. o Operates ultrasound equipment using
appropriate techniques, transducers, and ancillary equipment. o
Reports any system failures. o Follows infection control standards
including performing sterilization and disinfection of the probes
between patients. o Advises supervisor in a timely manner when
supplies are needed. o Advises supervisor of any patient
complaints. -- Learns and uses the Electronic Health Record
(Medical Practice Electronic Systems) and its components as
required by job functions and highlighted in the policies and
procedures. o Attends appropriate in-service training and staff
meetings. o Documents in the EHR under the direction of the
physician. o Drops CPT changes under the appropriate ICD- diagnosis
and enters ICD- codes. -- Performs other work-related duties, as
assigned. -- Promotes and monitors compliance with Joint Commission
requirements in the area of high-level disinfection (HLD) and
sterilization of instruments. -- Ensures safety and effectiveness
of HLD and sterilization processes. -- Ensures adherence to
manufacturer's instructions for use and evidence-based guidelines
for medical and dental equipment, devices, and supplies that
require HLD and sterilization. -- Responsible for performing
high-level disinfection (HLD) and sterilization of instruments, as
assigned. -- Performs HLD and sterilization processes safely and
effectively through adherence to manufacture's instructions for use
and evidence-based guidelines. Primary Attributes -- General
Development: o Demonstrates a high degree of organization. o
Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy. o Works effectively with a
wide variety of people and develops cordial working relationships
with providers. o Possesses a High School Diploma. -- Professional
and Technical Knowledge: o Completion of an ultrasound course
accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
Education Programs. o Minimum of five years experience as a
full-time ultrasound technologist. o Be certified as a sonographer
with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
(ARDMS), or be eligible for certification to be obtained within one
year of employment. (Preferably in OB-GYN) o Be in compliance with
continuing medical education (CME) requirements for the specialty,
as appropriate. o Knowledge of standards and regulations related to
Joint Commission, OSHA, blood borne pathogen control, HIPAA, and
ALARA. o Must have valid CPR license. -- Technical Skills: o Full
range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients,
manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination required. o
Normal vision and hearing acuity required. o Must be able to
occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to pounds. o Must be
able to sit, stand, and walk. -- Communication Skills: o Excellent
written and oral communication skills. o Communicates complex
concepts in a clear, effective manner for a general audience. o
Excellent cross cultural communication skills. o Bilingual,
English/Spanish or English/Creole desirable. SALARY BASED ON

that has been providing primary health care in Miami-Dade County
since 1977. Our mission is to provide our patients with a
