Our unit is a CVICU unit that specializes in mechanical circulatory support devices along with heart and lung transplants. We care for over 120 ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) patients a year, along with LVAD/Left Ventricular Assist Device such as Heartmate II, III, and Heartware, along with other support devices; such as Centrimag, Impella, and Tandem Heart/Lung.Our ECMO program was awarded, "Center of Excellence"-- -, Gold status by the ELSO organization for 2018-2021.Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South AmericaAdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the countryWe are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each yearImmediate BenefitsWork Hours/Shift:Full-Time / Nights (7pm-7am)Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance for eligible candidates (see terms below)Sign-on Eligibility:Applicable experience required.Full Time employment contract required.Rehires within 12 months are not eligible.Internal Candidates are not eligible.Relocation Eligibility:Full Time employment contract required.Must live 50 miles outside of campus address.You Will Be Responsible For:Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and life-style factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and interventions and nursing diagnosis according to patients actual or potential health conditions or needs.Based on the assessment and diagnosis, sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for the patient, assisting in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care.Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including, but not limited to lab results, non-invasive monitoring data and interdisciplinary team notes.Nursing practice reflects the application of knowledge, skill and adherence to all pertinent regulatory standards.Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the recording and accessing of all patient information in electronic medical record according to policy and in real time. Performs appropriate and legible documentation, recording all procedures and assessments within established timeframes, and in accordance with standards of care, departmental policy and practice guidelines.QualificationsWhat You Will Need:Graduate of a school of nursingCurrent valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered NurseBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationAdvanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirementsFor Radiology/Imaging, PALS required only for cost centers 4220,7211,6236Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Preferred)Professional certification (Preferred)ACLS, PALS, NRP (based on patient population; See document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) (Preferred)Job Summary:The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups.
