Job Description:

Summary:Manages specialty area psychologists, neuropsychologists, and other licensed mental health professionals' activities to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and Memorial Healthcare System. Ensures that patient cares services are delivered in a manner that balances quality of care with efficiency. Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements. Assists with program development.Detailed responsibilities:

  • Assesses a patient's cognitive, emotional and psychological status and provides appropriate interventions and treatments. Understands and initiates and/or discharges Baker Act when appropriate
  • Assists with the development and implementation of psychology goals, plans, evidence based practices/programs and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
  • Assists with the preparation and evaluation of departmental budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Collaborates on potential grant funding opportunities.
  • Monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives. Supervises Psychology Doctoral Interns and students
  • Collaborates with pediatric psychiatry.
  • Provides psychological expertise and education to a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Acts as resource to other disciplines on patient problems related to various psychological disorders.Competencies and skills:Essential:
