POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The incumbent lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and maintains plumbing systems and related equipment for assigned projects. Base hourly rate of $28/hr - $37/hr KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitates positive interactions with customers by resolving questions and concerns to satisfaction. Assembles pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment. Fills pipes or plumbing fixtures with water/air and observes pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks. Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine work details and procedures. Locates and marks the position of pipe installations, connections, penetrations, and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels. Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe using hand power tools or machines. Cuts openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools. Hangs steel supports from ceiling joists, or wall structures, to hold pipes in place. Repairs plumbing, replaces defective washers, mends broken pipes, and opens clogged drains. Installs underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems. Inspects equipment, structures, and materials to identify the cause of errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and solutions or escalates them appropriately. Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trade skills to less experienced tradespeople. CONDUCT STANDARDS: Maintains appropriate Company confidentiality at all times. Jobsite work is likely to entail varying exposure to weather, potentially harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, dangerous machinery, and/or other conditions typically associated with a live construction site. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Approximations on a daily basis) Standing, Walking 4-6 Hours Reaching Above Shoulder Height 4-6 Hours Working with Body Bent at Waist 4-6 Hours Working with Arms Extended at Shoulder Level 2-4 Hours Kneeling, Crawling, Squatting 4-6 Hours Pushing, Pulling 2-4 Hours Twisting, Turning 2-4 Hours Climbing Ladders, Stairs 2-4 Hours Lifting, Carrying without Assistance (Maximum) 50 Pounds TRAVEL: This position may require up to 15% travel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years of mechanical contracting and service plumber experience. Must be drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of service plumbing procedures Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google products. Capacity to leverage leadership skills to facilitate learning, teamwork, and collaborative relationships. Demonstrated understanding of the use of related tools, such as snakes, scopes and cameras. Must be fluent and able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English. Valid Driver’s License. Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completed OSHA 30-Hour Training. Current First Aid/CPR Certification. Backflow Certification. (Will be trained if not certified or current certification is inactive.)
