Job Description:
Description SUMMARY In support of the university's mission and
objectives, the Admissions Counselor serves as the primary contact
for prospective students interested in the undergraduate, online,
or graduate programs at Palm Beach Atlantic University, with an
assigned geographic territory for travel to recruit prospective
students. Recruitment Represents the vision and mission of PBA in a
professional and relatable manner. Clearly articulates the features
and benefits of PBA and describes PBA’s value proposition with
confidence. Travels to and participates in recruitment events in
and out of state at high schools, technical schools, charter
schools, college fairs, etc. To represent the university, promote
the university, and meet with prospective students, families, and
guidance counselors. Manages the “first response” follow-up (e.g.,
phone calls, text messages, emails, etc.) with prospective students
and their families and consistently communicates with them
throughout their exploration of PBA. Achieves weekly, monthly, and
annual targets for contact volume and phone outreach to prospective
students and their families to grow engagement and interest in the
university. Advises prospective students and their parents about
processes and procedures for admission, applying for financial aid,
registration, and enrollment. Participates in the execution of
recruitment and marketing events, projects, and activities both on
and off campus. (e.g., College Fairs, Campus Visit Days, Open
Houses, Alumni Receptions, Parent Receptions, PBA Preview,
Check-in, Welcome Week activities). Establishes and develops
partnerships with key stakeholders at Christian high schools,
public high schools, guidance counselors, churches, student
ministers, community colleges, community organizations, and alumni.
Cultivates Relationships Engages prospective students and their
families consistently throughout their exploration of PBA, capably
addressing their questions and connecting them with PBA
opportunities that match their interests, goals, and aspirations.
Speaks to groups of visitors on campus during daily visits and
presents to large groups during larger on campus events about the
admissions process. Consults with admitted students as they process
their college decision, ensuring they have all of the PBA
information they need as part of the process. Guides deposited
students and their families through Enrollment Checklist completion
and matriculation to the university in a manner that positions them
well for success at PBA. Introduces and orients them to PBA systems
and processes. Works collaboratively with university departments to
ensure a smooth entry process for new students who enroll at PBA
(e.g., Career Development, Campus Dining, Accessibility Services,
Financial Aid, International Services, Registrar’s Office,
Residence Life, Public Safety, Student Accounts). Administrative
Keeps supervisor informed daily of activities, problems,
emergencies, and occurrences in assigned areas of responsibility.
Ensures that the prospective student’s application information is
current and accurate. Assists with making admissions decisions for
select groups of prospective student applications. Utilizes
university platforms and tools to track contacts and reach
milestones with prospective students. Regularly analyzes data and
stays updated on reports for supervisor to ensure recruiting goals
are achieved. Adheres to university policies for work-related
travel and purchases. Works to achieve goals as part of a dynamic
team. Assists fellow Admissions Counselors with their territory
assignments as needs arise. Assists with training needs for new
admissions counselors. Attends and participates in Admissions
Office and university-wide meetings, retreats, and committees.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION Bachelor's
degree required in communications, psychology, or other related
major. EXPERIENCE 2 years of related experience in the
college/university setting; or 2 years of related experience in
sales, marketing, or similar field preferred. ESSENTIAL

abilities, skills, and/or talent. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Ability
to travel 50% of the time. Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s
license. Must meet the requirements necessary to rent a vehicle for
out-of-town travel. Must have the ability to travel locally using a
personal vehicle. Ability to work non-routine hours during certain
times of the year. Ability to lift/move objects up to 25
pounds.
